Lucia "Cia" Heyse

About Lucia "Cia" Heyse

Natural materials like wool, flax and cotton held no secrets for Belgian artist Lucia Heyse. Her fields of expertise included textile design and decorative fabrics.

But her life was as diverse as her creations. After committing herself to a textile design course in Ghent, she followed a nursing training and worked in the healthcare sector.

She made a return to the creative world of textile in the seventies, and became a teacher in hand weaving while also working in her own atelier in Tervuren.

Her works have been displayed at various national and international group exhibitions, including expositions in Enghien, Bourgogne and Bretagne.

Born in 1927, passed away in 2016.
