In his search for serenity and peace, Baekelmans explores basic geometric shapes such as the square, the triangle and the circle. Aside from that, his works with intense, deep, vibrant colors evoke a sense of dynamism and create optical illusions.
Guy Baekelmans, together with Guy Vandenbranden, is founder of the International Study Center for Constructive Art. He made significant developments in the use of shape and color in relation to space and perspective. By searching for new ways of expression, he pushed the boundaries of his creativity in every period of his evolution.
