About Homa Arkani

Homa Arkani studied Graphic Design at the Art & Architecture University in Tehran and Painting at KASK Gent.

Her work illustrates her socio-cultural concerns. It seeks to transform cultural or political issues into a poetic and visual form.
Homa is mainly inspired by Persian poetry, especially by Rumi. The concepts of Western painters like Pieter Bruegel and Hieronymus Bosch fascinate her, as well as the technique of Vincent Van Gogh.

In her opinion, the use of a monochromatic palette can produce powerful imagery and provokes deeply personal experiences to explore emotions and spirituality.

Born in Tehran in 1983.
