About Robin Wen

Robin Wen lives and works in Brussels. He graduated from La Cambre in 2018 and won the Prix des Arts in Drawing and Painting 2018 of Woluwe- Saint-Pierre. The artist's pictorial practice explores the world of the Free Party through the eyes of a young man in search of freedom. His approach is initially documentary. 

Using his personal archives or objects from his daily life, Robin Wen deals with the fragility and violence of this environment with strength and sensitivity. His paintings have become "anthropological objects" and bear witness to a universe that oscillates between the fantastic and the realistic. Wen's practice is part of the tradition of genre painting, which the artist hijacks and repossesses.
