About the exhibition in Leuven
The new exhibition at the Leuven office is a collaboration with the Brussels-based Alice Gallery. Founded by Alice van den Abeele and Raphaël Cruyt in 2005, the gallery has organised more than 140 exhibitions over the past twenty years on various locations in Brussels. Currently the gallery is located in Ixelles. Its striking yellow door may well symbolise what Alice Gallery seeks to offer: a world in which contemporary artists from a wide range of disciplines and subcultures come together in unexpected dialogues. In its off-site exhibition in Leuven, this philosophy is fully realised through a group exhibition featuring three contemporary voices from the art world: monumental, vibrant paintings by French-born artist Aurélie Gravas (b. 1977), who has made Belgium her home; ceramic masks by the Liège-based artist duo Eric Colonel (b. 1974) and Thomas Spit (b. 1977); and abstract landscape paintings by Brussels artist Steve Dehoux (b. 1977).
